Basuki Ingin Semua Jalan di Jakarta Terpasang TPE

Basuki Wants All Streets to Have E-Parking Terminal

All roads in Jakarta will be installed with Electronic Parking Terminal (TPE) in order to control on road parking.

the TPE concept is controlling parked vehicle number

Jakarta Governor, Basuki T. Purnama (Ahok), explained the City Administration is preparing the revision of Governor Regulation (Pergub) No. 64/2011 about Regional Owned Property Management which controls the on street parking. There are points to be revised, one of them is TPE.

"All roads must be installed with TPE, and we can raise the tariff," said Basuki, City Hall, Tuesday (9/1).

According to him, the TPE concept is controlling parked vehicle number. The tariff is quite expensive and progressive.

"We force people not using the on street parking through this system," he added.

It means, Basuki continued, people will look for cheaper parking lot. Later, free bus will be also provided as another option of transport mode.

"The bus will standby at cheaper parking lot. Is it good enough?" Basuki continued.

Meanwhile, recruited parking attendant will be paid double from the province minimum wage (UMP). "It is hoped they will get enough income," he stated.

TPE system is also included in Jakarta Smart City application. The application will effectively run next year after TPE system is done.

400 locations are targeted to be installed with TPE system, and 19 of them have entered the auction process.
